David Russell, National Community Church

David has been involved in digital communications since the early 1990s when local-dial bulletin board systems hooked him into playing "door games". When the World Wide Web emerged in the mainstream in 1996, David was hyperlinking to and from pages of content and found joy in the source of Web documents. He quickly learned HTML and later mastered the infamous Microsoft FrontPage.

In 2003, David began to learn of innovations on the Web that were forming around "user-generated" content, started snapping up domain names and established his first Web server. A couple of years later, while overseeing web communications for a legal organization, David stumbled upon Web Standards. Since then, he has crafted hand-coded, usable and accessible Web sites for many companies and organizations. David is the Digital Pastor for National Community Church in Washington, DC and pushes pixels and code at http://theaterchurch.com. He is also a now-and-then blogger at http://davidrussell.org.
